The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) is running programmes and provides opportunities to bring world communities together to connect and collaborate for positive change.
Their Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Programme, seeks to inspire, equip and enable youth who are passionate about making a difference, to embark on social enterprises (SEs) around the world.  Since 2010, they have been running this 8-month long programme that provides local and international social entrepreneurs/changemakers access to mentorship, training, overseas study visits and seed funding.
In October 2016, they launched the first YSE Overseas Workshop in Jakarta, which is part of a series of overseas workshops to support young social entrepreneurs in Indonesia with business and social impact knowledge to scale their social enterprises, and meet like-minded networks from the region. This year, they organised the second YSE Workshop | Jakarta 2017 from 18 – 20 September 2017. This workshop was available to 18 – 30 year olds in Indonesia who have a viable business proposition that addresses a social issue, and have a social enterprise that is in operation for less than 2 years that is looking to generate profits.
Besides workshops and business clinics, the social enterprise teams presented to a panel of judges in which ANGIN team took part, where one selected team received further resources such as a customised mentorship and a sponsored overseas study visit trip in 2018, to gain exposure to the regional social enterprise landscape.
Congratulations to the 32 teams who pitched with passion, professionalism and committment.
