(16/11) A Networking Dinner was held at Borobudur Hotel to launch Connector.ID, a platform developed by the UNDP and ANGIN, supported by the Canadian government and Amazon Web Services. Connector.ID bridges entrepreneurs who need funding to the most suitable funding providers (eg banks, VCs, angel investors, foundations, crowdfunding, etc.). Through this platform, entrepreneurs can instantly get a short list of capital providers that match their funding needs and business characteristics. Detailed database of financing providers and appropriate algorithms have been developed by Connector.ID team and partners with industry experience in Indonesia. Connector.ID also provides important learning materials developed by practitioners and individual support to help Indonesian entrepreneurs interact with existing capital providers.
A live demo of Connector.ID was done by Meredith Peng, the CEO of Connector.ID. In the live demo, Meredith explained the main features of Connector.ID which was divided into three main sections.
The first section of the live demo showed how entrepreneurs can fill in the questionnaire and get the list of relevant capital types and capital providers. For the connections that are more sensitive – i.e. angel Investors – Connector.ID does not mention their names. In the future, Connector.ID will try to lower the manual intervention and add features like chatbot and machine learning.
The second section showed how a capital provider can apply to be the capital providers in the connector.id. Meredith emphasized that everything is confidential and the investor’s preferences are not shared with anyone else.
The third section explained Connector.ID Classroom which is a section where people can find learning material regarding fundraising. Meredith emphasized the classroom section because it feeds into Connector.ID goal of introducing new standards and leveling the playing field in the Indonesian entrepreneur-scape.

It also provides important learning materials developed by practitioners and individual support to help Indonesian entrepreneurs interact with existing capital providers.
