(15/11) In collaboration with The UNDP, ANGIN team did a 2-hours pitching workshop for four social entrepreneurs focused on tackling climate change issues. The four startups were: Simbah, Eye of The Forest, C4RA, and Piarea/Sinargantara. After practicing, getting insights, and perfecting their pitch deck format, they had a chance to showcase their startups in an event hosted by the UN titled ‘Leveraging Innovative Financing for Development’ yesterday, 16 November 2017 at Borobudur Hotel Jakarta.
A short introduction on each startup, Simbah is an agriculture platform with a mission to fix the agriculture value chain in Indonesia and as result, giving farmers better income. Eye of The Forest developed devices that can track forest fires and illegal logging. C4RA is a platform that captures and documents satellite images that can show geographic & climate vulnerability and risks in certain regions in Indonesia. Lastly, Piarea is data-driven system that can help the government to track in real time, reduction or change in the volume of forest area in Indonesia.
The event gave exposures for these four social enterprises to showcase their progress to many national and international delegates coming from multinational institutions, development agencies, impact investors, venture capitals, government institutions, as well as global associations who are focused on international and sustainable development.
ANGIN was honored to be invited as mentors and partipants of the event. We surely hope we can witness many more social and pro-environment enterprises/startups in Indonesia, as well as events that celebrate collaboration to achieve inclusive development and sustainability.
