WEConnect International is a non-profit organization that connects women-owned businesses to qualified buyers around the world. Their mission is to help women-owned businesses succeed in global value chains.
What WEConnect Do:
- Educate: Educate women business owners on how to access new markets and grow their companies.
- Train: Train corporations on how to source from women business owners and we train women business owners on how to sell to corporations.
- Assess: Identify women-owned businesses, assess their readiness to access new markets, and deliver a certification for Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) wanting to do business with corporations committed to global supplier diversity and inclusion.
- Connect: Break down the barriers that prevent women business owners from connecting to each other and to new market opportunities, including connections to local and multinational corporate buyers.
WEConnect International has presence in 20+ countries around the world, including Indonesia. One of their ways to educate and train women entrepreneurs is through their mentoring program, named Asean Mentee Program. Last year, WEConnect International brought together 20 Indonesian women entrepreneurs to join their one-year business mentoring program. Mentorships were done by successful female entrepreneurs worldwide via online.
Their most recent initiative was Women’s Business Growth Summit (16/11). In collaboration with Freeport-McMoran Foundation, WEConnect gathered more than 65 participants to discuss how to improve market access for women-owned businesses in local and global value chains.
