ANGIN had the pleasure to attend the Bali WISE annual fundraiser – the Role Model Charity Dinner 2017, in Bali.

We enjoyed an amazing dinner, music and dance show performed by the talented graduates from Bali Wise ‘s programs. Thanks again to the dedicated Bali Wise team, participants and organizers. It was inspiring to see the energy of the young ladies and the dedication of the team working with Bali Wise to create strong impact. Thanks again!

We also made good contact with visiting Canadian Entrepreneurs supporting women in their respective provinces in Canada. These connections will be valuable for our upcoming exchange in Canada to learn more about women entrepreneur support: http://angin.id/2017/11/20/study-on-women-entrepreneurs-support-system-canada/

As you may know, more than 12 million women are illiterate and unskilled in Indonesia. Salaries of unskilled women are usually 50% less than the Official Area minimum salary. Unskilled Women get pregnant earlier and often have to leave their children as orphans. Unskilled women are more prone to contract HIV/AIDS and other sexual diseases and are more susceptible to manipulation, such as prostitution, trafficking, and slave labor.

Founded in 2007, BaliWISE is a Bali-based non-profit organization that provides free Hospitality, Tour & Travel skills training to the young, poor, and marginalized women, who are mostly straight out of high school before they join the unskilled trap or vortex. Partnerships with hotels and companies in Bali provide on-site work experience. There is high demand for graduates of the BaliWISE program, with more than 90% finding full time employment within three months.
