ANGIN team attended the demo day of Remake City Jakarta last Thursday, November 30. Remake City Jakarta is an impact accelerating program for growth-stage startups that have main objectives to solve social problems occurred in the city. It is a program sponsored by KOICA, a Korean governmental agency supporting the socioeconomic growth, managed by Crevisse Partners, an impact ventures group, and Merry Year Social Company, a social innovation consulting company. The accelerator program is operated by UnLtd Indonesia, the leading social enterprise incubator based in Jakarta.
Three startups pitched for the very first time in front of the investors, journalists, and fellow entrepreneurs:
• Crowde – a crowdfunding platform for unbankable farmers in Indonesia
Nazava – an affordable water filter manufacturer
Temu – job matching platform for low-skilled workers and employers
The demo day was more than just a 7-minute presentation because there was a final moderated session where the audience could get up close and personal with the startup founders. Although they are different in terms of their business mission and objective, we found a similarity among them. Two things drove them to leave their previous careers and start what they’re doing now: their sensitivity to what is happening around them, and a fiery passion for making the positive change.
Congratulations to Crowde, Nazava, and Temu, and ANGIN looks forward to see the positive impact that you will deliver to Jakarta and its people!
