On 22-23 February 2019, myNEF Malaysia hosted ASEAN Ricebowl Startup Award, an event aims to reward best practices among startup players in the Southeast Asian region. Gema attended this event as ANGIN representative.
The award ceremony was preceded by the Rice Bowl Summit, a one day conference filled with keynote sessions, panel discussion, and investors-matching sessions to further support entrepreneurial ecosystem across ASEAN. Some of the notable speakers were Daniel Hastik (Partner in Nextech Ventures), Mik Strøyberg (CEO & Founder of Happy Monday), and Bobby Liu (Senior Editor of Topica Edtech Group). The session provided important know-hows of successful startup operation such as fundraising, market expansion, and product development.
ANGIN was nominated as the ‘Investor of the Year’ Award. In the award ceremony, two startups that caught our attention was Tanihub and Wakuliner which were awarded the title of ‘Best Agriculture Tech Startup’ and ‘Best E-commerce Startup’ respectively.
We would want to congratulate companies that had been nominated for this ASEAN Ricebowl Startup Award, and we wish their venture to continue in developing entrepreneurship ecosystem across ASEAN area.
