On April 15th 2019, Talent Indonesia organized a meeting between the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Muhammad Hanif Dahkiri with other StartUp in Pancoran. It is intended to discuss the changing landscape of Indonesia’s non-formal workers but the little access to social security. This non-formal worker has no centralized and integrated data and no standardized skill set that will help them a new form of jobs that exist due to the advancement of technology.
Lead by Anjani and Yuricho Billy from Talent Indonesia together with 25 start-up including Gojek, Warung Pintar, ThisAble, Crowde, Glints, Talent Mapping, and all of their representative member including ANGIN members Nadia Fadhila and Selma Ayuanshari discusses the current Talent Problem in Indonesia.
The Minister stated that there are 3 Indonesian main problems are quality, quantity, distribution of workers. In Indonesia, he stated that there are a lot of role models of amazing quality of workers but there are only a few of them in number and they are only distributed to only a few places in Indonesia. It is crucial to gain more skilled workers. So there is a need for a change of mindset from people, that they don’t have to worry about having a job contract but they should keep on working hard and increasing their skills instead. If they do, they will always have the opportunity to work. The role of young and or new entrepreneur who collaborate with the government is important to help make a better ecosystem.
