ANGIN in partnership with Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum present to you; AIS Startup & Business Summit 2019 that will take place in Manado on 30 October – 1 November 2019. This summit will bring together business leaders & startups from archipelagic & island states to discuss steps and solutions needed to address the climate emergency and rising sea level; inviting delegates from 21 AIS countries!
In addition to the business conference, ANGIN as the official event partner will take part in organizing a Startup & Business pitching session; IMPACT Pitch by ANGIN to encourage entrepreneurs with sustainable marine business model to support blue economy. Blue economy refers to business models which encourage the protection and sustainability of ocean through fisheries, marine biotechnology and ecotourism.
ANGIN contributed to the early discussion to shape the program and design effective modules for startups. We will lead and deliver the investment-related content and manage the invitation of key stakeholders. On top of that, we are also in charge of curating and managing exhibitors for the 92 booths at SBS! We are excited to be part of AIS SBS as it is in our commitment to developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem beyond Jakarta and work in very impactful sectors and industries.
ANGIN's Lead for AIS forum: Novi Juwita, Business Development Associate
This event is led by Novi Juwita, Business Development Associate. Our team partnered with Ministry of Maritime and UNDP from day 1. The journey started in Jakarta, took us to Manado to meet some of our key partners. Novi coordinate with UNDP and Ministry of Maritime to deliver ANGIN's On-Demand Consultation on their weekly meeting.
What is AIS Forum?
Archipelagic and Island State Forum is made to build cooperation between archipelagic and island states globally to overcome the effects of climate change, currently with 47 participating countries including Fiji, Kiribati, Japan and more.
The forum was established in 2017by the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Maritime Affairs with country partners. The summit theme this year is startup and business summit as an attempt to include private sectors; businesses and startups in all AIS participating countries as agents of change to overcome the mutual challenge faced as archipelagic and island states.
