Within the Indonesia Hospital Expo, on 23 October 2019 the Embassy of Netherland organized a panel discussion titled “Let’s Talk About: Health-Tech Development in Indonesia and the Netherlands”. The embassy invited ANGIN Investment team (Gema Minang, and Robialmay Naufalmahdy) as well as experts and startups from both countries to discuss about the development of health technology advancement and its challenges. The opening remarks were delivered by Hans de Brabander (Head of Economic Dept. of the Embassy) and dr. Agus Hadian Rahim, Sp.OT(K), M.Epid, MH.Kes (Secretary of Directorate General Healthcare Facilities, Indonesian Ministry of Health), the discussion was held in two panels.
The first panel discussed the government’s role to accelerate development. This panel speakers were dr. Agus Hadian Rahim, Sp.OT(K), M.Epid, MH.Kes (Ministry of Health), Dr. I Nyoman Adhiarna (Ministry of Communication and Informatics), dr. Gregorius Bimantoro (Indonesia HealthTech Association), Alex Holsbergen (Task Force Healthcare NL), and Joost Nuijten ( Netherland Embassy). To accelerate health tech development, all panelists agreed that collaboration between the public and private sector are necessary to focus on the preventive solution. It is cheaper to prevent than treating disease. Knowledge exchange between the two countries is also important to understand the needs of people and to bring the right solution to the right people.
The second panel was more from the private sector side, featuring Anda Sapardan (TeleCTG), dr. Agnes Susanto (ProSehat), Laurens van Hoorn (Amsterdam Health and Technology Institute), and Ronald Zwartkruis (Topicus). All panelists agree that their business involves the life of people, and to provide the best solution they need to comply with various regulations. the other important things are funding and talents to enable this acceleration.
