On 2nd of December 2019, Benedikta Atika, spoke at Future 500 Leadership Circle in Jakarta. This workshop is a part of Equity@Scale program, a two-year initiative to empower leaders and organizations, men and women, with access to knowledge, networks, capital and resources to transform the world for women’s empowerment. The Future 500 Leadership Circle is organized by Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) and Women Organizing for Change in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (WOCAN).
The workshop started with the presentation by IIX and WOCAN, followed by a panel discussion comprising of Benedikta Atika from ANGIN, Richard Rice from Ski Safari, Wardah Hasyim from Fairtrade, and Moray McLeish from Olam. The panelists shared their insights on how impact enterprises can leverage gender equality to access market and capital. After the panel session, there was a breakout session where participants were divided into several groups to discuss about some challenges and solutions to integrate social and environmental impact and women’s empowerment into business.
