Supporting Indonesian impactful companies, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with ANGIN, launched the NINJA (Next Innovation with Japan) Accelerator Program 2024 in Indonesia. The program empowers the chosen companies to expand and establish partnerships across Indonesia and Japan.  Automa Supply Chain, Kepul, and Parongpong RAW Lab emerge as the 3 selected Cohorts in revolutionizing green transformation and environment conservation.

Jakarta, Indonesia — Continuing its dedication to driving innovation and impactful entrepreneurship in its fourth year, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has collaborated with ANGIN for the third consecutive year to launch the Next Innovation with Japan (NINJA) Accelerator Program 2024.

The NINJA Accelerator Program represents an exceptional platform for entrepreneurs to scale their ventures and broaden their impact. This highly selective initiative is crafted to support business growth, foster partnerships in Indonesia and Japan, secure crucial financial support, and build essential networks. The program will facilitate tailored mentorship and guidance on impact report creation, equipping companies with essential data to strengthen their positioning with investors and access to meet investors, corporates, and other related stakeholders through Demo Days in Jakarta and Japan, fostering impactful companies-investor connections. 

“This year, we are focusing on eco-friendly and carbon-neutral initiatives. JICA believes it is essential to protect Indonesia’s beautiful natural environment while utilizing it effectively, with the necessary measures for climate change mitigation and adaptation.” said Ms. Sachiko Takeda, Chief Representative of JICA Indonesia Office, remarked in her speech.

Showcased Their Innovation, 10 Shortlisted Companies Shone at the Pitching Session

Over the course of an intensive selection process lasting less than a month, a thorough review was conducted with an impressive pool of 264 applicants. Following this rigorous screening, the 10 shortlisted companies— Automa Supply Chain, Bantubumi, CIROES, IJO, Karmabumi, KEPUL, Parongpong RAW Lab, SMEs Pack, Terra Water Indonesia, and Venambak—earned the chance to participate in the pitching sessions. Held offline on 18th of November 2024 at the E-DISC (ERIA Digital Innovation And Sustainable Economy Centre) in Central Jakarta. The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by David Soukhasing, Managing Director of ANGIN, and Sachiko Takeda, Chief Representative of JICA Indonesia Office. These dynamic sessions were filled with energy and innovation, marking an exciting milestone for these ventures to present their groundbreaking ideas and entrepreneurial vision. We were honored to have distinguished judges, including Sachiko Takeda, Chief Representative of JICA Indonesia Office, Nozomu Ono, Senior Representatives of JICA Indonesia Office, and Yoji Hiramatsu, Project Formulation Advisor of JICA Indonesia Office, as well as David Soukhasing, Managing Director of ANGIN, and Atika Benedikta, Investment Director of ANGIN.

As the final selection phase of the JICA NINJA Accelerator Program 2024, JICA and ANGIN were  thrilled to host this pitching session, spotlighting companies ranging from pre-seed to pre-series A stage that offers innovative solutions in green transformation, natural environment conservation, and sustainable water management. With the pitching phase successfully concluded, we are proud to present Automa Supply Chain, Kepul, and Parongpong RAW Lab! These visionary entrepreneurs have excelled through the selection process and are poised to reshape the future of green transformation and environment conservation.

NINJA Presents 3 Cohorts to Kickstart a New Chapter Towards Green Transformation and Environmental Conservation

We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with these exceptional companies, witnessing their rapid growth and seamless integration into the dynamic ecosystem. Their journey will begin with tailored mentoring sessions covering 5 areas: Business, Fundraising, Japan Business Culture, Pitch Coaching, and Impact Assessment, set to kick off in December 2024. This preparation will lead up to the eagerly awaited Demo day in Jakarta and Japan in February 2025. This event will provide a prime opportunity for companies to showcase their potential, engage with a select group of local, regional, and Japanese investors, and prepare their impact report alongside ANGIN impact team.

Parongpong RAW Lab is revolutionizing construction with sustainable Ja~la! Prototiles, made from repurposed abandoned fishing nets (ghost nets). Parongpong RAW Lab aims to address marine plastic debris by recycling ghost nets, benefiting the environment, and providing extra income for local fishermen. The prototiles reduce material weight by 90%, lower costs by ⅙ per m2, and minimize carbon footprints while boosting local content (TKDN), this makes Parongpong RAW Lab leading the charge in transforming waste into eco-friendly, high-quality building materials for a green future.
