Pei-fu Hsieh is the General Partner of 01VC focusing on investment opportunities in Southeast Asia.
Pei-fu brings to 01VC extensive investment and operation experience in SEA. He has spent 15 years in Thailand and began his career with Lombard Investments providing expansion and acquisition capital to companies in SEA. His track record includes Central Pattana, Thailand’s leading shopping mall developer, earning a return of 7.1x for its $24 million investment.
Pei-fu founded and held the helm of several Rocket Internet companies from 2012 to 2015. As CEO of Zalora Taiwan, SEA’s leading fashion destination, he built the site to become a household name. Pei-fu then went on to found Easy Taxi Taiwan, which became the largest taxi hailing app locally within less than one year. The final Rocket Internet related company that Pei-fu served was as the CEO of Groupon Taiwan. Prior to joining 01VC, he was spearheading the expansion for Mamilove, a social commerce platform into SEA including Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Pei-fu had served as Vice President at KPCB China from 2006-2010, where he invested in 10+ TMT and Cleantech companies. One of his successful exits includes Sungrow Power (SZ300274), Asia’s largest inverter manufacturer. He had also worked for McKinsey.
He received his MBA degree from UC Berkeley, BBA degree from Chulalongkorn University and is a CFA charter holder.
