On Friday, October 20th 2017, ANGIN team attended a conference held by Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE) together with UN Women, UNDP, and AIESEC. Eight days before the anniversary of ‘Sumpah Pemuda’, the event was strategically titled ‘Visi Pemuda 2030’ or ‘Youth Vision 2030’. Centered on the issues of gender equality and women empowerment, Shinta Kamdani (founder of IBCWE), Anita Nirody (UN resident coordinator), and Sri Danti Anwar (Deputy, Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection) all gave opening remarks and their views on the topic. Each discussed the importance and universality of gender issues from business/corporation, international development, and governmental contribution. This further validates the urgency to combat gender inequality and close gender gap through collaboration and education.
The event consisted of two panel sessions where industry experts, public figures, as well as government representations shared their stories and vision for a more gender equal future. The first panel session featured speakers representing Millenials; Dayu Dara (Gojek), Shinta Nurfauzia (Lemonilo), Rochmad Siddhiqie (AIESEC), moderated by Nariswari K. Nurjaman. The second panel session presented pioneers and experts from the previous generation; Anne Patricia Sutanto (Pan Brothers), Donna M. Priadi (General Electric Indonesia), and Romy Cahyadi (UnLtd Indonesia).
ANGIN team had a pleasant and inspiring moment witnessing the progress of Indonesian women gaining strength, and unity. As an ecosystem support, it has been one of our most important mission to stimulate, facilitate, and advocate women empowerment through entrepreneurship and leadership.
