On 19th March 2019, Katja from ANGIN’s team, attended the invitation to the press conference of Simona APAC Women Founders Accelerator, a Startup accelerator program that aims to support gender equality and build a community of women entrepreneurs across Asia Pacific by selecting Startups in the region into their accelerator program. ANGIN is participating as Community partner.
There are eleven women-led startups from countries across the APAC region that have been selected to attend a 5-day immersive program from 25th to the 29th of March, where they will be introduced to the Indonesian market, mentored, and connected to local investors, regional investors, and prominent local players. This eleven startups vary from different industries, e.g. from eyewear e-commerce to an insurance app to a women-friendly carpooling platform. Two Indonesian women-led startups Seekmi and Gadjian, were selected to participate. The Line-up of keynote speakers and mentors that will join the program shows experts from various sectors and industries such as / e.g. Noni Purnomo (President Director, Blue Bird Group), Shinta Kamdani (Managing Director, Sintesa Group) and Crystal Widjaja (Co-founder and Advisor, Generation Girl & SVP Business Intelligence, GO-JEK).
The press conference was closed by a panel session: ‘The Importance of Investing in Women’, addressing different issues that occur if women-led startups look for investment and how they being chosen and seen by others.
