Badan Ekonomi Kreatif (BEKRAF) continues to strive in developing a conducive ecosystem for the culinary subsector of the creative economy by organizing Demoday Food Startup Indonesia 2019 in collaboration with Foodlab Indonesia. This event was held at Hotel Ciputra World Surabaya on 15-17 July 2019. David Soukhasing, Managing Director of ANGIN attended the event as one of the eight mentors who came from diverse backgrounds such as prominent culinary practitioners, business developers, company founders, and chefs. 50 food startups out of 306 registrants were chosen to participate in this event by sending out their pitch deck, product profile, and their traction. They were selected because of their innovation and vision to develop the creative economy landscape. In the mentorship session, chosen participants had the chance to pitch in front of the mentors to introduce their products and network. Then, 15 participants out of 50 have the opportunity to pitch in front of special guests and investors. The best 3 startups were selected on the closing day.
