ANGIN and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), in support from Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Association (MWEA) and Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) East and Southeast Asia, organised the first Angel Investing with a Gender Lens, a Myanmar practitioner’s Masterclass and dialogue session, to support current and prospective angel investors to learn best practices for angel investing and to start investing with a gender lens. The interactive one-day Masterclass took place in Pan Pacific Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar on February 26th 2020. covered the key steps in pursuing angel investments and investing with a gender lens.
Covering the key steps in pursuing angel investments and investing with a gender lens, the workshop was joined by a dozen members of MWEA who is eager in learning best practices to pursue angel investments into seed and early-stage women-led and inclusive companies. The Masterclass was delivered by David Soukhasing of ANGIN, Virginia Tan of Teja Ventures, and Patricia Chu of Mana Impact Partners. Benedikta Atika and Adirani Heraputeri of ANGIN also brought support as facilitators. The one full day workshop saw a very interactive sessions of mutual knowledge exchange and meaningful networking which was concluded by some next steps and action plan formulation in building a more inclusive and empowering ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in Myanmar.
