Solving Water Crisis with Wujudkan!
With our technology and power that is better than ever before, there are still areas in the world that have little to no access to the most basic needs, water. Calvin Perdana, CEO and Co-Founder of Wujudkan! found that people are suffering and struggling to meet their water needs.
“We’ve talked to people who live in drought prone areas and water shortages one. They can only shower once in three days, and have to buy water while minimizing the use. From that reality, we knew that these people won’t be able to survive because they can’t find alternative solutions for this water sources problem and can’t solve the water crisis problem themselves” says Calvin.
This experience motivated the team behind Wujudkan! to make a system which allows people to consume and conserve water as the groundwater in order to solve water supply solutions. Wujudkan! Has the vision and plan so that people can harvest water from the sea, sand, and sky. Today, they begin with rainwater to be utilized as the solution.
Introducing, Gama Rain Filter
Patented in 2016, Wujudkan!’s rainwater system is called “Gama Rain Filter”, which received recognition from national and international institutions. Gama Rain Filter allows us to drink rainwater, and saves the excess rainwater into groundwater to rejuvenate them.
The solution offered by Gama Rain Filter can be applied in areas with a minimum rainfall 900 mm. Based on their previous users, the immediate effect after the consumption of rainwater is freshness and lighter taste than any other mineral water, since it has low Total Dissolved Solid content. The medium term is removing your need to buy mineral water or galloned water to drink needs which allows you to save up. In the long run, you can see the groundwater is rising, which based on Wujudkan!’s research it can rise up to 8 cm per year.
The Team Behind Wujudkan! and Their Journey
About the team, Calvin Perdana explains, “Today, a new team was formed, Widi and I focused on procurement, and daily operation, PT. GIB as accelerator focused on marketing and sales, while Assoc. Prof the inventor focused on research and networking.” Their team consists of Assoc. Prof. Dr.Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono as Commisarist and Inventor, Ridha Nurul Aziza as Commisarist and Accelerator Partner, Calvin Perdana as CEO and Co-founder, and Dwitya Kurnia as CTO and Co-founder.
With only two months since Wujudkan! was formed, they reached revenue above IDR 200 million. By 2019, they were serving more than 25 districts, while also receiving awards from Archipelagic and Island States Impact Pitching. In 2020, Wujudkan! received an award from Block71 Yogyakarta, and Impact Hub Jakarta, became the 3rd Winner of Indonesia Climatelaunchpad by Europe KIC, and 7th Winner of Archipelagic and Island States Innovation Challenges, while their Gama Rain Filter received best patent of the year by Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Moving forward, in 2021 Wujudkan! is aiming 150+ potential customers in Yogyakarta and Central Java, 200+ potential customers in West Java, Jakarta, and Banten, 100+ potential customers in East Java, and Bali, reevaluating Q1 – Q2 target, and to launch Gerakan Indonesia Mandiri Air. By 2022, 2023, and 2024 respectively, Wujudkan! Aims to expand into the West Part of Indonesia and develop an early warning system for flood and drought, expanding into North Part of Indonesia and piloting the EWS system, and to implement a fully automated system.
