As a trustee of Tanoto Foundation, Belinda guides the strategic direction of the organization. Through her decade-long work with the Foundation, Belinda has seen first-hand that education is the single most effective way to reduce poverty and improve the lives of children and families in developing countries.
A passionate social activist, Belinda has been spearheading the foundation’s investments in rural schools in Indonesia since 2009, specifically in education leadership, teacher training and literacy.
Tanoto Foundation seeks to alleviate poverty through education, empowerment and enhancement of lives. To date, the Foundation has provided over 20,000 scholarships, built schools that produced 27,000 graduates, developed 60,000 hectares of Community Livelihood Plantations, and created more than 1,800 jobs in local communities.
Belinda received her bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude in Finance and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
