Beyond Access: Renewable Energy Opens Economic Opportunities for Rural and Island Communities

The Government of the Republic Indonesia through Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Directorate General of New and Energy Conservation and The Government of the Federal Republic Germany through GIZ, has made strong cooperation in the framework of Energizing Development (EnDev) Project. EnDev has been active in Indonesia more than 10 years and will end its operation in September 2019.
In the past 10 years of operation, EnDev has supported the Government of Indonesia to successfully implement rural renewable energy program. With the cooperation of governments, EnDev has affected more than 350,000 people, more than 2,500 public facilities, more than 3,500 rural businesses, more than 1,000 renewable energy mini-grids and a generating capacity of about 29 MW. The project has affected different sides of people’s livelihood.
To mark the conclusion of EnDev Indonesia, they will held a talkshow titled “Beyond Access: Renewable Energy Opens Economic Opportunities for Rural and Island Communities”.
