Ring the Bell for International Poverty Eradication Day: Addressing Inequality through Multidimensional Poverty Index

October marks the month to observe the International Day of Poverty Eradication. This International Day also provides an excellent opportunity to spread the key message of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, UNDP Indonesia co-hosting the ring the bell ceremony for opening the stock market with IDX Indonesia, supported by Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN). The event will commemorate the importance of SDGs and its implementation in Indonesia, particularly by private sectors. The ceremony will be followed by a presentation and talk show to highlight the latest finding of UNDP’s Multidimensional Poverty Index.
A cornerstone to the operation of private companies – particularly the listed and public companies – in Indonesia is the timely issuance of Sustainability Report. The Report has become a requirement for financial service, listed and public companies in Indonesia. The compliance of sustainability reports from respective private sectors, especially the ones listed as IPOs, marked a serious commitment to progress SDGs for the sustainability effort.
