Since the term climate-smart agriculture (CSA) was coined in 2010, the biannual global science conferences on CSA have emerged as the key global forum for scientific exchange to underpin CSA implementation. The conference will build on the lessons from the previous conferences, with the overarching theme, ‘Transforming food systems under a changing climate’, and will be held for the first time in Asia.
The objectives of this conference are:
- To mobilize the knowledge needed for food systems transformation under climate change.
- To catalyze the partnerships needed for transformation, bringing together all key stakeholders, from scientists, policy makers, investors and farmers.
The 3-days conference will consist of discussions, collaboration and inspirations amongst the peers in regards of transforming the food systems, basing in on 6 themes namely:
- Empowering farmer and consumer organizations, women and youth.
- Digitally enabled climate-informed services.
- Climate resilient and low emission practices and technologies.
- Innovative finance to leverage public & private sector investments.
- Reshaping supply chains, food retail, marketing and procurement.
- Fostering enabling policies and institutions.
This isn’t your standard science conference. Come for energizing sessions and the chance to engage with diverse participants including ANGIN’s Managing Director, David Soukhasing will be participating in this conference as a speaker and judge.
